Acid fume scrubbers are designed in such a way that the fumes evolving during are action or from any containers will be sucked using a centrifugal blower and diffused using a suitable scrubber column like wet scrubbers or dry scrubbers.
The fumes collected from the corrosive environment will be passed through a wet scrubber. In which the fumes are made to get contact with a counter solvent to dissolve the corrosive chemicals in the fumes and the fresh air will escaped through the chimney. The counter solvent will be sprayed on the top of the wet scrubber column to get contact with the fumes . The counter solvent will be chosen based on the acidic or base nature of the fumes.
Dry scrubber is another type of method to diffuse the chemical and corrosive elements in the fumes extracted from the chemical environment. In this the dissolving media is mostly the activated carbon or any other activated powders which can react with the hazardous chemicals extracted from the environment the hazardous fumes reacts with the media in the scrubber column and the fresh air will escape through the environment.
